David, Iggy, Lou and Michael

Home from seeing new work by the Michael Clark Company at the Barbican.

It blew me away!

Everything from the costumes, which varied from glitter-ball-gimp-suit to degrede flame coloured unitards to Breton striped jackets, to the music (don’t get me started on the posturing Jean Genie cat-walking across the stage… amazing) WORKED.

My only 1 niggle was that they showed Bowie’s Hero video behind the dancers which meant that I watched that and not them… but then it IS my favourite Bowie song and video EVER so I wasn’t going to miss seeing it blown up to the size of a building!

If you get a chance to see this production don’t hesitate… GO!

Here is the single cover program complete with poster:

It’s a shame that the Nena video finishes early but I think what happens is that she runs off with the Naff Looking Bloke on the dodgems leaving the Nerd In Class to come back with this:

Or two more…

I met these fellas at the hotel in Waregem and ended up watching DAF with them. They were so lovely but honestly the size of kids. I felt like Snow White. When I told Robert post concert that he needn’t have worried about me as ‘I’d hung out with those blokes from the hotel’ he laughed ‘Oh what… yesterday’s headliners? Honey you are funny… ‘those blokes’ are really famous…’

I just had to put this image up.

Paul Dragoni the man behind Cockabilly is promoting a new night called Eat Your Lipstick, Friday at Dalston Superstore. I don’t actually know what Paul does for a day job but his eye for an image is always spot on!

Where Am I?
